I came to the From Alone To Committed Love 1-1 programme to help me with my never-ending relationship struggles. I’ve been single a lot of my life and the relationships I have had have often been really painful, starting off with a lot of excitement and ending with a lot of pain. And I knew that I had to do something to change that cycle, because it was really affecting my confidence and my life. I hired Nicola because I have seen her work in the past and I really trust her. I really was excited to go through the programme and I absolutely got exactly what I needed from it. The approach she took was very very powerful, very deep and very practical as well. It helps you really learn about the different aspects of yourself through the parts work (Voice Dialogue). We worked with some of my conflicting parts… I had parts that were really excited about dating and parts that were terrified – and the process of doing that really led to more confidence and clarity, and a sense of calm. I’ve found a lot more peacefulness within myself and I no longer feel that sense of anxiety around dating. I meet people all of the time, I feel attractive to men, I feel like I attract men to me instead of being in my head and pushing people away because of coming across as anxious. Now I feel more confident, which means I get approached more by men. Men seem more interested in me and I feel like the chooser. I’m good at setting boundaries and I’m confident about not going into the same old patterns. I just feel much more confident. Nicola is an excellent coach – and I say that as a coach myself – she is caring and knowledgeable and she really knows what she’s doing. I highly recommend her programme – I felt completely safe in the process, which enabled me to go very deep – and I’ve come out the other side with a lot more clarity and confidence. Since having coaching sessions with Nicola, I catch myself almost on the daily thinking, “Wow, I couldn’t have done this a year ago”. Even my family and friends have noticed a change. The journey hasn’t always been easy but it’s been SO necessary. To list everything I’ve gained would turn into a short novel, so here’s the synopsis: I feel like I’ve come home. Nicola’s breadth and depth of knowledge, her uncompromising honesty, her compassion, humanity and her humour have made it all possible. What’s touched me most is her ability to hold space when I’ve felt really triggered, allowing me to work on deep-rooted issues I’ve been carrying around my whole life. Through our sessions, I realised that what I thought were external obstacles in my life weren’t “out there”, but within me. When I saw this, I could easily pass through them… It felt very spiritual to observe the different parts of my psyche and self from a very loving place through voice dialogue. It was very liberating, because I thought I had to squash and hide parts of me that were just trying to get my attention and wanted to be heard. I feel more comfortable within myself and more confident… I feel more self-acceptance and am saying “this is who I am, I’m not changing myself for this situation or for you”. Working with Nicola has given me a real sense of empowerment and strength within. If a situation makes me feel anxious or upset, I’m able to put myself into a relaxed state more easily… the energy that was going into feeling anxious is now going into soothing myself, and it’s so instant, I don’t have to go through a long process to come back to feeling calmed.
