Stress and Wellbeing in the Workplace: The Nervous System
Bring awareness to the role the nervous system plays in workplace stress. Discover how to build resilience to stressors for improved team wellbeing and productivity.
In this workshop, delegates will:
- Learn the basics of The Polyvagal Theory, to gain understanding of how our wellbeing and capacity in the workplace is impacted by the three states of the autonomic nervous system
- Become aware of how fight/flight/freeze survival states occur as a stress response and how to build resilience to workplace stressors
- Understand how being in a survival state impacts our ability to focus and carry out tasks effectively, and our capacity to connect and communicate with others
- Reflect upon what triggers their own survival responses in the workplace and identify ways to reduce stressors and regulate their nervous system
- Learn how people’s nervous systems communicate with each other and how to use this awareness for more effective leadership, teamwork and greater wellbeing in the workplace
- How to promote an open culture around mental health and nervous system health for increased resilience, confidence, capability and psychological safety in the workplace
- Identify the ways you will put into practice what you have learned by partnering with your nervous system to set goals
